History

The Golden Gate Bridge was completed in 1937 after four years of construction. It was designed by Joseph Strauss, who had a vision of connecting San Francisco to Marin County via a suspension bridge. The project faced several challenges, including strong ocean currents, high winds, and funding issues. However, with the help of engineer Charles Ellis and architect Irving Morrow, Strauss was able to overcome these obstacles and create one of the most iconic landmarks in the world.
